Jacqulyn S. Elenz, a homemaker from Pensacola, won a $848,015 statewide progressive MegaJackpot while playing a Jeopardy! quarters slot machine at the Beau Rivage casino Sunday afternoon.

"At first, I was in complete shock and disbelief," said the 51-year-old Elenz after IGT Technicians and Mississippi State Gaming officials verified the jackpot. "I just couldn't believe that the symbols fell in line that way. It was like the stars aligned for me!"
Elenz, who had originally planned to visit another resort over the weekend, changed her reservation to stay at the Beau Rivage because they had her favorite Jeopardy! quarters slot machine, while the other venue did not, Beau Rivage officials said in a news release.
After playing only $50 in 90 minutes, Elenz's change of venue paid off big.
"I always play the Jeopardy! quarters slot machine when I visit the coast, but I never imagined I'd win to begin with, much less what I would do with my winnings," said Elenz. "And I still don't know!"
This is the fifth MegaJackpots grand prize of the year in Mississippi, bringing the state's total prize payout to just more than $2.6 million in 2008.
The Wheel of Fortune MegaJackpots dollar slot machine continues to grow in Mississippi, where it has currently reached more than $13.9 million.
Jeopardy! slots are based on the popular television game show. The top jackpot is paid when a player plays the maximum bet -- 75 cents -- and lines up all three winning symbols on the appropriate pay line. After the jackpot is verified, the Jeopardy! progressive meter on the quarter machine is reset at $100,000.
All IGT MegaJackpots awards are paid in annual installments upon verification, except MegaJackpots Instant Winners jackpots and Rapid Riches MegaJackpots awards, which are paid in their entirety upon verification.
