Sky did not fall after election
It's Nov. 6, a black man is president-elect and the sky didn't fall. I've posted the dire warnings of Ace Burdett ("Nightmare scenario," Letters, Oct. 30) on my wall.

I'm an old hippie who proudly voted for Obama-Biden because he struck a chord in me that hasn't been struck since John F. Kennedy.
I believe in a better America where the schisms of today are smoothed over and the divider that separates us is abolished.
I was against the war in Vietnam because it was a civil war we inherited from the French where we were killing the people we were "saving" from communism.
We killed and were killed for half a generation. Now they are our trading partners.
I'm against Bush's war in Iraq and think he should be tried, along with Cheney, for war crimes.
This war has greatly expanded both their families' wealth in the oil business.
They should not profit from the blood of Americans dying for oil in Iraq.
There is enough evidence today to convince any court to start an investigation of all Bush-Cheney manipulation of intelligence to start the war, and go from there.

Shocking choices
For many years I have read the Pensacola News Journal daily, and after church on Sunday I enjoy a leisurely afternoon relaxing and reading the Sunday paper. On Nov. 2, I was shocked when I saw the sample ballot and the recommendations of the Editorial Board, especially the choice of Amendment Two.
This tells me that the PNJ supports gay rights. I cannot believe that a prominent newspaper would even think about endorsing any candidate, for that matter, and recommend a choice of this nature.
I'm sure there are many others who feel the same as I do, or at least I hope so.
