For the recreational fishery, harvest would be reduced an estimated 26 percent, which is greater than the minimum reduction called for to end over fishing. Amendment 30B would set the bag limit at two gag grouper in a reduced four-fish grouper aggregate bag limit and prohibit the recreational harvest of all shallow-water grouper species, from Feb. 1 to March 31. The entire amendment is available for review by the public on the NMFS Web site under the "Fishery Bulletins" section.

You can make your comments by visiting www.regulations.gov and searching for NOAA-NMFS-2008-0203, by mailing Peter Hood, Southeast Regional Office, NOAA Fisheries Service, 263 13th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, Florida 33701, or faxing (727) 824-5308, attention: Peter Hood.
